In 2000, Ms. James received a major commission from Liturgy Training Publications to create 35 images for a new reading of The Book of the Gospels. One of the most sacred books in the church, "The Book of Gospels was always fabricated and decorated with the utmost care and shown greater respect than any of the other books of readings." The completed book has been praised for its multicultural approach, and for its beauty.
